Christmas to Me

It's that time of the year again. Christmas and New Year.

Back then, not so long ago, I was in KL partying with my buddies. That was last year. Barely just completed my studies and trying to get the taste of pure freedom.

Fast forward to today, I am at home during the eve of Christmas and finding myself into some personal reflections. Year after year, we tell Santa of our endless list of wishes. We want this and we want that in life by not really thinking whether we deserve for that many gifts or not. Eventually it will come to a point where what we really want to wish for in the end is a simple word: Happy.

Perhaps this year, I should go for something less and much more simple.

Not going to wish for the latest fashion, hi-tech gadgets nor am I going to wish for a hot boyfriend. All I want for this Christmas is to just make the most out of what is left to this year. Though 2010 has not been a likable year to my favor, somehow I still want to live in it as it teaches me a lot of things. There's no point in rushing up to what we planned to do at the beginning of the year, as when we are not able to accomplish it - we feel down in the end, causing a greater sadness which we don't want to be carrying it over to the year 2011.

So let us enjoy the holidays given to us, take time to smile and be happy. Spend time with close friends and family, and give even more time to ourselves.

We deserve the break.
